Origami Dog Valentines [ Easy Origami Kids Project ]

Want a fun kids DIY project for Valentine’s Day?

So our friends gave us an origami book to give us something to do on our cross country move.  But we lost it!  We looked everywhere for the book the whole trip…beneath dogs, snacks, and kids.  And we finally found it on New Year’s Eve.  So what did we do when we found it?  We made origami creatures of course! Part of this was necessary to keep us awake after the long move.  So as the ball fell in New York City, we were whipping out creations and origami boxes lol. I’ve been a little obsessed with these little creations ever since.  Now let’s create some origami dog valentines.

Since hearts are so expected for Valentine’s Day why not make dogs right?!?!  So my original idea was to make origami hearts and then my creations accidentally became origami dogs.  Just add a lollipop as a treat to complete your origami dog valentine.  We have free templates to download.  You could just leave the back blank and write in your own saying on the inside or print one of our phrases on the back (or not :)).

Our free dog valentines are so easy and fun to make…let your child make them!

Since there is a lot of folding in our origami dog valentines… here are the downloadable links and a video to show you exactly how easy it is to make.  And you just need computer paper for your printer to make these little valentine’s pups.

Here are the files to download if you want to create one exactly like ours…

YOU’RE KIND OF AWESOME BACK

YOU’RE A GOOD FRIEND BACK

A dog origami valentine tutorial video to help you…

Make sure to have some extra lollipops to enjoy while you fold and the sugar rush can’t hurt your folding speed.  It’s amazing how fast we can fold these little pups now!
